CorelDRAW users will find this tutorial very useful in learning some techniques involved in designing rapidshare download button in different colours. This tutorial will make use of basic tools in CorelDRAW and will be highly recommended for intermediate users who will be designing for the web.

This tutorial assume that you have some basic knowledge of computer and also corelDRAW Graphic Suite. With a mouse and CorelDRAW version 9 through X4, you can do this tutorial. However, we used CorelDRAW X3 during the writing of this tutorial.

Step 1: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To begin the tutorial, open the CorelDRAW Graphic Suite Program. A opened CorelDRAW Graphic Suite Program workspace window (Fig. 00).

Step 2: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick the "ellipse tool" from the toolbox located on the extreme left of the document window (Fig. 01). Drag the "ellipse tool" on the drawing area while holding the "Ctrl Key" on the keyboard. This will give you a perfect circle on the page of the drawing area (Fig. 02).

Step 3: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the toolbox, click on the "fill tool" and a fly-out menu is displayed. Select the "fountain fill dialog" (Fig. 03) and at the fountain fill dialog window input the following settings:

Type: Linear
Angle:
90.0
Edge Pad: 0
From: Yellow
To: Red
Midpoint: 50
Click the "OK" button to apply this fill to the circle or ellipse (Fig. 04).
Now, you will notice the circle has a black outline. We have to get rid of the black outline by clicking on the "outline tool" in the toolbox and select "no outline" in the fly-out menu (Fig. 05). Your circle will now look like (Fig. 06).

Step 4: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick the "ellipse tool" again from the tooblox (Fig. 07). Draw a smaller circle and position it over the previous circle as in (Fig. 08).

Fill the circle with white color by selecting the "white" on the "color pallete" on the extreme right of the workspace window (Fig. 09).

Remove the outline of the white circle by clicking the "outline tool" and select "no outline" in the fly-out menu (Fig. 10). Your work should now look like as in (Fig. 11).

Step 5: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now select the "Interactive Transparency Tool" (Fig. 13) and apply it to the white circle from the top to the bottom (Fig. 14).

Step 6: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the toolbox, select "Arrow Shapes" and on the fly-out menu, select "Arrow Shapes" (Fig. 15). Then on the "Property Bar" at the top of the workspace window click the "Perfect shapes" arrow and select the arrow as in (Fig. 16).

Drag the selection on the page while holding the "Ctrl key" on the keyboard. You should have an arrow facing downwards (Fig. 17). Select the "Pick Tool" (Fig. 18) and position the arrow on the white circle as in (Fig. 19).

Step 7: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Click the "Red color" on the "Color Pallete" on the right (Fig. 20). Click the "Outline Tool" and select "No Outline" from the fly-out menu (Fig. 21). Click the "Interactive Transparency Tool" on the "Toolbox" and apply to the "Perfect Arrow" by dragging from the middle to the top of the "Perfect Arrow" (Fig. 22).

Step 8: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick the "Text Tool" on the "Toolbox" and Click the "Workspace Area" and type the text "DOWNLOAD" (Fig. 23). Now Click the "Pick Tool" (Fig. 24) and select the "Red Color" on the "Color Pallete" (Fig. 25). This color will be applied to your "DOWNLOAD" text.

Step 9: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You may want to resize the text, change the font or bold the text. The "Text Property Bar" at the top of the workspace area can be used for such purposes (Fig. 26).

Step 10: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, use the "Pick Tool" (Fig. 27) and position the text below the arrow as in (Fig. 28).

Option: You may use different colors to do the download button. Also you may want to stretch the second white circle horizontally a little bit. To create the exact look and feel portrayed above.
